We arrived in the city of Lecce which will be our home for 2 nights. With early Roman orgins, it became a very important city and prospered later during the 15th to 17th century. Because of its rich Baroque architectural monuments, Lecce is commonly nicknamed "The Florence of the South". This Google Earth image shows some of the sights we visited.
